My darling baby you are now eleven, beautiful weeks old. How life has changed and moved so quickly since your arrival. It seems your new life has made mine new as well. There is so much you are doing and becoming in such a short amount of time that I have started to keep a journal beside me to write down every single thing. Every week of your first year of life (starting this week) I'm going to write your accomplishments, favorite things, activities we did, etc. I hope to someday give you the journal of letters on a birthday when you are old enough to appreciate them. I hope this makes you feel loved and cherished. Every single moment with you is to me. I love you baby boy, bubbalou!
This week you are now showing startled reactions to loud noises, like when mommy and daddy cough or sneeze.
Your fists are your favorite toy, you love to suck on them...especially when you are hungry. This is helpful to mommy and daddy to know when to start feeding you before you become fussy.
You are smiling so much more now!
You love to look at the glow and the dark stars on mommy and daddy's ceiling. I'm betting you will want some in your room one day too.
One night this week you slept a whole 8 hours! Do you know most babies older than you don't even do that?
Your Great Grandma Roz sent you bigger clothes (6-9 month ones) Some of them you can already fit in!
Instead of spitting up you are now drooling more and mommy and daddy are starting to keep a bib on you when you are awake.
Earlier this week you were very sniffly and didn't enjoy the bulb syringe mommy and daddy would use to get your boogies out. We started nicknaming you Snarfles.
Grandpa Bordner visited you on Sunday and brought some clothes!
You are somewhat on a routine this week, most nights you stay up til 12 am and sleep until 6 am.
Oh ya, when I said you were smiling a lot..you don't like to do it for the camera. As soon as mommy or daddy points it at you, you stop. I think you think it's funny but I've caught one or two smiles.
Your bouncer seat that vibrates and makes heartbeat noises calms you down and car rides put you to sleep.
You lift your head up very well when placed on tummy time. Way to go! Mommy and Daddy cheer and clap for you everytime. We are so proud of you.
Your movements are less random and sporadic, hehe but you still love to kick your legs!
You love it when we pick you up to stand so you can lift off your feet and jump.
You seem like quite the waterbug. You've never fussed at bathtime and you seem so relaxed when your hair is being washed.
You pull Mommy's hair but I've learned to tie my hair back. ;)
This week we carved pumpkins and Daddy made one for you...it was so cute and is glowing outside as I write this.
What a beautiful week it was. ~

Cracks
I need to get Netflix again so I can watch more movies..like I have the time for that, really. Haha. But this one, Cracks, based on the novel by Sheila Kohler looks fantastic. I'm especially taken by the perfectly dreamy and polished fashions. Here are some stills shots from the film. I would recommend watching the trailer on youtube as well..
I also love those doily looking pillows
my favorite.
Happy Thursday!

We Carved Pumpkins

Today we had so much fun carving our pumpkins. Mike made a baby one for our baby Dylan. I think they turned out great!

Lookie What I Found
I found these adorable vintage children's books in our attic the other day. The last one pictured was printed in the 1930's. I'm excited to add them to Dylan's library when he gets a little older. There are a few used book stands at the farmer's market near our house...I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for more when we go this weekend. I hope to find some old Hardy Boys or something.
Happy Monday!
